FCT, through its digital services unit FCCN, supports the organization of the International HPC Summer School 2025 , which will take place in Lisbon, from 6 to 11 July 2025, bringing together participants from all over the world. Registration for this event, which is being held in Portugal for the first time, is open until 31 January 2025 .
All undergraduate and postdoctoral computer science students from institutions in Australia, Canada, the European Union, the United States of America and Japan are invited to apply for the 15th edition of the International HPC Summer School .
This event addresses the main aspects of HPC ( High Performance Computing ) and big data analysis for a variety of scientific disciplines, and aims to catalyze the formation of networks, provide advanced guidance and facilitate international exchange that opens doors to new career options.
The training courses are led by leading experts in Advanced Computing, from the organization's partner regions.
The HPC Summer School is sponsored by the EuroHPC Joint Undertaking (EuroHPC JU) through the HPC SPECTRA project in Europe, the Pawsey Supercomputing Research Centre (Pawsey) in Australia, the Digital Research Alliance of Canada (DRAC), the RIKEN Center for Computational Science (R-CCS) in Japan, the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign and the University of Texas at Austin in the USA. These institutions are joined by organisations from South Africa (NICIS CHPC and NITheCS) and the UK (EPCC), which are conducting the selection process.
